Does anyone know what time the next bus is due outside the shed? I only ask because there is a splendid bus shelter under construction right next to our front door.

Sorry, correction - apparently it is going to be the new wood store!
It seems like the shed has finally come of age in 2023.
Membership looks like it is going to top 50 for the first time and workshop attendance is also running at an all time high.
Please welcome the following new members:
Richard Cearns
Richard Brocklehurst
Andy Denins
Garry Grant
Chris Moon
Desmond Earl
Mick Gillam
Alan Smith
Good to see there are no more "Johns" - we have more than enough already, especially the one from the Black Country!
I don't think we have ever had so many projects underway before.
As well as the bird box project for The Red House Museum that Rob is leading, there are two chairs underway, a folding chair and a Cape Cod chair (Mick G.) and no, I don't know either, a Guitar Rack (Alistair H.), A Pulley Block thingy, (Kevin L.), Boot Puller, Tea Light holder and Chopping Boards (Bill H.), a miniature Rocking Horse and Trug (Jeff P.), a set of Speaker Cabinets (Cliff W.) Garden Furniture (Peter A.) to name a few - and it was nice to see the woodworking lathes in action again.
Phew, I need to sit down with a cuppa just thinking about it - who has got the chocolate biscuits?
This is what the shed is about but it does increase the responsibility on all of us to maintain a safe and tidy working environment.
The trustees have prepared a couple of documents entitled "Workshop Safety" and "Workshop Etiquette" to be read in conjunction with the "Christchurch Men's Shed Rules"
Copies can be found in the Downloads section of the website and are displayed on our notice board. Please take the time to read them.
We will also need to get the bench installed at Lakewood now that winter has finally given up the fight.
Our Trustees have renewed CMS's insurance cover for 2023
This gives us protection for Product Liability, Public Liability and Trustees Indemnity but it is worth noting that we do not have personal accident cover.
Everyone is responsible for their own safety in the workshop and the safety of others in the surrounding area (see Workshop Safety)
And with regard to our Trustees, a total of (6) were voted into office at the recent AGM
John MacBean (chair)
Robin Heels (membership)
Bill Horwood (treasurer)
Jerry Russell
Roger Begg
Bob Mackinnon
Membership Renewal
Reminder that our 2023 - 2024 membership is due now.
Annual fee is £20 plus £5 for membership of the HRA (Highcliffe Residents Association) for anyone who is not already a member.
We are also taking this opportunity to ensure that the information we hold on file, including emergency contact information, is up to date.
The attendance fee is currently £2.50 per session capped at £5 per week.
Social Media
As well as our official website at www.christchurchshed.org, we have a Facebook Page for Christchurch Men's Shed members.
If you would like to join the group, please search for the page on Facebook and submit a request.
Only members can access the group and view or post messages.
I should also ask if anyone would like to be removed from the CMS email circulation list - please let me know!
