Christchurch Men's Shed
Old School House Open Day
First of all, thanks to everyone who, at very short notice, came along to the School House last Saturday (29th FEb) in support of our Men's Shed. There were 7 of us including 3-Johns from CMS and around 80 in total at the Open Day. Together, with the recent Active Highcliffe event at the castle, we have generated a lot more interest in the "Shed" and met several potential new members.
Old School House Work Party
We are planning a work party Wednesday 4th March starting at 10.00 am specifically to clear out some of the unwanted wood and fibre board and take it to the tip. Late morning / early afternoon, the "new" kitchen will arrive and help will be required to off-load it and move it into the lower hall. Time and tide permitting, we may also be able to make a start on stripping out more of the old cupboards and move the (2) benches outside for the time being. If you are able to help on the day, please reply to this email or let us know at our meeting on Tuesday afternoon
Greystone's House Room 1 Meeting
Our next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday 3rd March starting at the usual time of 2.00 p.m. I expect the main agenda item will be to bring everyone up to date regarding progress on the School House workshop.
Greystone's workshop
The Greystones workshopwill be open as usual on Tuesday morning (3rd march).
Chris Waddilove has purchased a replacement blade for the BK3 bandsaw which we should have back up and running. This must be the most used item of machinery in the workshop so please form an orderly queue! I also understand that the thicknesser has been returned and is under the back stairs.
Ron Aimes-Lines has promised cakes, so see you all this week!
